Islands 2050: Project update and call for online participation

In September, Islands Trust announced the launch of Islands 2050, a trust-wide public engagement process designed to help the Trust revise the Islands Trust guiding document, the Policy Statement.

Islands Trust wants to plan for the challenges and opportunities that the Islands Trust Area will face in the next 30 years, particularly as it prepares for the realities of climate change. In communities throughout and around the Trust Area, the Islands Trust will continue to engage with the public and First Nations through open houses, community events, and online conversations.

To date, we have offered 24 events (11 open houses and/or group discussions/presentation, six island-based vision booths, and seven booths on BC ferries). Thank you to everyone who has come out to one of our events and contributed!

Online Participation:

We have had 529 participants, 801 thoughts, and 15,214 ratings on Thought Exchange. If you want to get involved, we are still looking for online input. It is easy and fun. Please join the online conversation by answering our two questions on Thought Exchange!. The exchange will run until Jan 31st, 2020.

If you want to learn more about the project, please watch this short video or go to our website and find out more!
